    *HELP* predator attack

    Is my poor hen a lost cost post racoon attack.. her head looks bad poor thing, alert images are graphic.. shes still moving and breathing and just got up and walked but not sure the full extent of her injuries and if I can save her or not :/

    Pecking order..

    Not sure where else to try and post this so hopefully this is the right spot. My question is, can pecking order effect the health of hens and can one lower in the pecking order have been pushed away as to not being able to get the proper amount of food due to bullies in the flock?

    Hens keep fighting..?

    Any idea why in recent days when I let our girls out to free range several of them extend their necks at each other to stand up tall and then start fighting? Is this a pecking order issue or something else??

    So after going to our coop today for the disapointment to find 4 dead chickens I am wondering if they too can suffer from heat exchaustion like we can??     Fertilized eggs.. feel this a stupid ? but here goes..

    We have what I believe to be 2 brown leghorn roosters.. If I were to keep 1 to help with fertilizing some eggs.. will the fertilized eggs be a mixed breed?     Scented cat litter in the coop?

    So I have this idea but I am not sure how chicken safe it is.. As a way to give the coop a cleaner odor and a better floor overall in the coop I was thinking to spread out some of a cat litter bag that we have , thoughts on this?
