I had a duck sit on a bunch of random eggs. Some duck eggs, some guinea eggs and some chicken eggs! Turns out that the guinea eggs all hatched (I was suspect on the fertility of the chicken & duck eggs anyway).
Now the big question is, can the duck raise the keets, or will she try and drown...
Hi guys,
I have had my peafowl for over a year now and this season (I'm in Australia) they have finally reached breeding age.
As soon as the season started, my Peacock moved from the back of my house, to the front verandah (to admire himself strutting about in the big windows). My peahen...
Hi guys,
I have had a bad hatch. Shipped eggs and by the looks of things, high humidity.
Most chicks hatched with curled toes. After putting on chick booties for the past 2 days (taped feet) their toes have straightened out nicely!
The problem is... I have one or 2 chicks that have one...
I couldn't think of another way to word it.... but I feel like I have entered a co-parenting arrangement with my muscovy duck!

I was wondering if anyone out there could please tell me what colour my Bantam Modern Game hen is? I'd like to enter her in a show I am taking some ducks to for a bit of fun. I just can't work out what colour she is to enter her in the correct class . I'm not familiar with game birds and she is...

I was wondering at what age will my muscovy drake become sexually mature? My muscovy duck has finally started laying and she has a young boyfriend who is about 4 and a half months old.
I was wondering how old he will need to be before he will mate with her?

Hi all! I'm just one of the many first time hatchers that are incubating at the moment.. and I have a question. Well make that 2 questions!
1. My incubator floor (paper towel) has become wet since lockdown due to the water seeping out of my 'water wick' (cloth shoved into jar). Is this going...
Hi everyone
It's my first time incubating and I have duck and guinea fowl eggs set. I know I have a few good duck eggs developing so I am hoping to get at least one to hatch.
I am on day 18. Lock down will be next Sunday (duck eggs.. longer hatch time)
Tonight when turning the eggs I...
Yesterday my hubby went out to collect the eggs and feed the chooks and noticed a MASSIVE snake skin had been shed in our run! (The lovely hubby thought I needed to see it.... so he brought it in the house and put it on the kitchen table!!!!)
It was from a Tiger snake too. For those of you who...
Heading out within the next hour to go and look at the newest addition to our farm..... a miniature pony!
All the information has been relayed to me by my hubby..... so I really have no idea about this pony! My current understanding is that it belonged to a young girl who has lost interest...
A month or so ago I started to make a homemade incubator out of an old cooler. I've got all of the light globe and thermostat wiring done & working. All I really need to do now is put in my fan, fit the perspex viewing hole to my lid, set up some hardware cloth / mesh and give it a test whirl...
