My chick is about a week old, and just tonight, he has been chriping CONSTANTLY! He wont stop and it keeps me up all night! The bottoms of his feet, I noticed are slightly torn, and redder than usual and he won't really walk a lot. The other chicks and ducks hover around him completely and all...

One of my ducklings hatched yesterday, two days later than the others, and he came out with a sort of bent neck. He's in the brooder now with the others and seems fine. But that neck worries me. Will he grow out of it?
My little duckling was just born, and he needed some help because he was in a weird position. Well, now that he's hatched, he can't hold his head up, and it's kind of tilted to the side. Is this normal? I didn't get to see my other ducklings be born so I don't know.
I just don't want something...
My last duckling egg is STILL in the bator. It's been a good 2-2 1/2 days that he's been trying to get out. He pokes his bill out and peeps but won't push or zip. I took a little bit of shell off to help him out and tore just a tiny bit of the membrane and I hope that does it. If not, what...
I am just heart broken to have to give these guys away, but I am forced to. If you are willing to pick them up and give them a good, lifelong home ONLY, then they are all yours. 11 total, 6 chicks, 5 ducks (one more hatching). Assorted breeds.
Please contact me about them
Anybody in IL that will give these newly hatched ducks and chicks a good home? A family member is not in good health and it breaks my heart to do this, but I cannot keep any of my chicks and ducks I hatched.
I really want them to go to a good, home that will give them a good life. Anybody please?
Well, all but one of my ducklings has hatched, and the one that is still in the bator, hasn't made any progress since yesterday. He has two pips in the shell, but I can't see him because the shell is in the way, but the egg is moving every now and then. I don't hear much noise from it anymore. I...
Two more ducklings piped so thats four total! Two more are piping, and the final 7th egg isn't doing anything. So with a little luck, I could possible have an 85/90% hatch rate for the ducklings! That sure beats my last two chick hatches, COMBINED!
It's been a couple of years since I last raised baby ducks, chicks, etc. so, can someone remind me when it is that I can take the chicks/ducks off the heat lamp?
This morning, my duck egg incubator was completely noise filled with little baby ducks' piping the shell! Already three have started, now for those other four...... I guess I will have to wait. But how exciting! Can't wait to see these little fluff balls!
I know chicks usually hatch on the 20th or 21st day or so, but what about ducks? My duck eggs are due tomorrow/sunday and I wasn't sure. How long does it take them usually from pip to hatch? I heard something like 48 hours but that doesn't seem right.
That pretty much says it all.... An egg pipped this morning but not on the top, on the bottom and immediately a yellowish liquid pours out of the hole. I thought at first it was just "after birth" from a chick that hatched a few minutes prior but now that the egg is starting it's zip, you can...

A little black chick, has been working since last night to break free and he finally got his head out but now he's trying to get his butt out but isn't making much progress. I can see his feet when he tries to get out so it must be his tummy/hind end that is stuck. Should I just let him get...
Since I have 3, two day old chicks in the brooder box, and am now expecting some newborns in the next couple days, and then 7 ducklings after that, can I put ALL the babies together? Even the (7 day old chicks by then) with the newborn ducklings? Or do i need a separate brooder?
Sorry for all...
All over this forum I see pictures of eggs that do a nice, full zip around the eggs...well, all of mine haven't even zipped. They just pip and make that one hole bigger and bigger and then push it's way out. Does that mean I am doing something wrong, or is the chick just confused?
