Hello feathered friends!
So I have a bird with Coryza. And I have a handful of drugs and things because I have a lot of animals. So help me figure out what would be best to treat her with. I’m gonna post pictures of said drugs
These are enormous tablets given to me for one of my horses. But...
I have never seen this before on my peacock.
He’s 8 yrs old, no signs of illness. Growing back his train well, has a peahen with him. Is kept separate from the chickens.
He let me scratch at it, so not painful or bloody.
What do you think it is?
Hello friends. Fellow chicken tenders. I’ve got about an eight week old chick that seems lethargic and when I brought her in and checked her out it seems there’s a little bit of a sound in her breathing. It’s almost like a click. I think it might be a respiratory issue so what can I give her...
Hello all.
So, my main worry is that since my peacock is molted, he is spending less time on his roosts and more time just sitting on the ground. I’m concerned he’s losing weight. Neither he nor the hen seems to be eating a lot. Am I just worrying over nothing?
I’ve had him for about a year...
So we picked up a five year old peacock from a friend and brought him home. He is in his own pen with other fowl for company walking around and things he’s aware of them and they interact to some degree. But he’s not eating very much. He’s displaying, he’s calling. But he’s really not eating. I...
Does anybody recognize this “hatchery” or seller?
The amount of breeds he has. And the fact that I offered to pick up the birds and he said no he only ships. And I’m looking for adult birds. I didn’t think you could ship adult birds?
Thanks!!!
Good morning! I am a new peacock owner. And we’re considering getting him a hen. Should I wait to bond with him before we get him a mate he feels he has to protect?
There’s a seller out of Asheville, NC that ships adult birds. Does anybody have any experience with him or that? He’s on FB...
Hello peacock tenders!
I am going to be getting a peacock about five years old. And I’d like your suggestions on how best to transport him. It’s not a long drive, maybe 45 minutes. But he’s a big boy. Any suggestions?
I don’t know what kind of box or crate to put him in so that he’ll be...
Hi Duck friends,
Would like your opinion on a duck who laid a weird “egg”. It’s in quotes because there was no shell and there was no yolk. It was just a membrane with the white in it. And she’s been lethargic for a couple of days and is reluctant to move around.
What can I do to help her...
Hey fellow chicken tenders. So a couple of my roosters got into it one fared more poorly.
I cleaned him up and treated the wounds and this morning this is what I found on his head!!
The other one I treated and is fine and not showing any signs of this weird yellow stuff. What is it?
I’ve never...
Hi chicken friends.
So I just got these two young birds from someone who doesn’t remember what they were. She got them from TSC she thinks back in about April. I don’t keep meat birds I’m looking for layers so I’m hoping this is a leg horn would love your opinions.
Thanks!
Good morning All!
Noticed this on one of my BCM girls. It’s only on the one eye. She’s just under a year old. Behavior hasn’t changed. Still eating and drinking normally.
Thanks in advance.
☺️
I have three female ducks. An Ancona a Cayuga and a mix. Last summer the Cayuga went broody and hatched one duckling. And since then no eggs! From any of them! They are a happy family but no eggs.
What are your thoughts?
I miss my duck eggs!!
😩
Hi all. I have a young rooster that has a smelly thick discharge coming from one nostril. Still eating and drinking normally, still very active.
Before I head to the vet is there anything you would suggest for home care?
Thanks
D
I know chickens can be real peckers if you try and slip a new chick under them that isn’t theirs. But what about duck mama’s?
One of our Cayuga hatched a duckling about 6 weeks ago. I separated her with the Drake when she went broody until the youngster was about 4 weeks old. Reunited everyone...
Hi All.
I have an adult duck, an Ancona who is exhibiting signs of wry neck. I’ve been reading other threads about vitamin E, selenium and Poly-Vi-Sol. And I don’t know what the dosages are. The vitamin E and the selenium are both in tablet form. And I’m afraid of overdosing her because I’ve...
Hi all,
Having a problem with an Ancona.
She’s wobbly and can’t seem to control her head and legs well. Neurological issue?
Still eating and bathing but looks drunk.
Sound familiar? Any suggestions as to what it might be?
Thanks
D
Hi all,
I have an Ancona hen that seems to be having a neurological issue. She seems uncoordinated and clumsy. Like she doesn’t have full control of her neck and legs. She’s still eating and bathing in the pond. Any ideas what this might be?
Thanks
D
Thank you to all who answered my earlier questions about incubating and hatching eggs. Much appreciated.
We’ve had a good hatch. A dozen out of 16 eggs have hatched and the chicks all look great. 💕💕💕
We have four left and they are now three days overdue. No pips on them. When do I give up on...
