Imagine my surprise when my brown rose comb leghorn "Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner" decided to go broody along with her buddy "Lowrider" the Japanese Bantam Cross. I always thought Leghorns were a breed that were less likely to go broody. Anybody else have a broody Leghorn?

I have an Arizona Brown Chicken that I need help identifying. As a chick she looked like an EE with the chipmunk stripes. But she has yellow legs and no muffs. She also has a really flat comb; like a raised bump. She is about 3 months old. Thank you!!
This is one of the chicks that I got for my broody BO to raise about a month ago from the feedstore. She is extremely skittish, afraid of me and hides behind the other chicks. She looks like she's squatting most of the time, but she's really standing up. All the other chicks look tall on their...
I had something strange happen last night about 3:30 AM. I was awakened last night by the sound of my 3 dogs crashing through the doogie door which is in my master bathroom. As I followed them outside I noticed that the girls were in the run (I forgot to close their pop door before going to...
To make a long story short... I had a broody buff orpington named Myrtle who sat on eggs for 21 days. One hatched part way and died, the other was a bunch of smelly stuff. Any how I went to the feed store and got her three one day old chicks and gave them to her. She's as happy as a clam being a...
My 6 month old buff orpington Myrtle is in trouble. About 4 days ago she started hanging out in the nest box 24/7 so I thought she was going broody. She wouldn't come out to eat or drink, and I had to put on leather gloves to get the eggs out from under her. I tried giving her a bowl of water...
Just looking for any opinions or thoughts on the brand Manna Pro Layer Feed. My feed store currently only has Purina Layena and I'm not sure the girls like it very much. I've seen Manna Pro at another store and just wanting to hear from others who like/dislike this particular brand. Thanks for...
Shamique, my 3 month old black australorp hen has had a dirty, muddy beak with sand, and stuff sticking to it for a day or two. Today I noticed mucous/saliva on her beak while she was eating her treats (boss). She wipes her beak on hard surfaces to clean it off. Is this something I should be...
About a month ago I purchased several baby chicks from MPC, including two Red Star Pullets. One of the chicks, has a very large comb compared to the other. She is also a much lighter color. I thought Red Stars were sex-links. Is my Harriet a roo, or just "well endowed"? Any feedback is greatly...
Yep, my little lady Allison crows like a sailor. Every morning at the crack of dawn, and at other times during the day too. It has become louder and more frequent. Is there any way to make her stop or at least crow less? I've been squirting her with water from a squirt bottle when I see her...
