    Which spray should I use to de-louse my coop/nesting boxes?

    Newer chicken owner here, and this is my first experience with lice. I plan to get the Poultry Dust and do all the ladies, but I was reading that a spray is more effective for the coop and nesting boxes. Is there a spray anyone would recommend? Thanks!

    Giant Cochins and Silkies in California?

    I'm looking for just a handful of backyard chickens. I'd like at least 1 giant cochin, some silkies, and maybe a sizzle/frizzle. Anyone know where in California I can find older birds? I'd like them to be 3-5 months old so my chance of getting pullets is higher. Suggestions appreciated!

    Egg colors?

    Do silkies typically lay eggs of a certain color? I'm a first time silkie owner and my hens just started laying--both layed eggs that are a very very light green color. Just wondering if that's expected/what other colors can be expected from silkies? Thanks!

    Flapping roo, what does it mean?

    My 5-ish month old Silkie roo stands up very straight and flaps his wings when I either come near him or "chick chick chick" at him. Wondering what this means? I assume he's trying to protect his lady friends from me, but hoping maybe it means he's happy to see me or something? Thanks!
