We have 6 chicks that are 5 weeks old. I was going to wait another week but my wife wants to put them outside. The temps here in NJ are mid to low 80's during the day and mid 60's to low 70's at night. Is it too soon to put them out in the coop?
I have read that it is best to lock your chicks in the coop for a period of time when you first move them outside. My coop only have roosting bars and nesting boxes. Will I be ok if I don't lock them in at all?
I have been reading a lot here and decided I needed to join. We are just starting out. We have 8 pullets that are 4 weeks old. Getting ready to move them to the coop in a couple weeks. We have 3 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Speckled Sussex and 2 Leghorns.
