Ok, so yesterday I woke up to mom cussing (Rare) so I knew something was wrong. She told me those effing German shepherds were out again. Anyway, getting to the point. Calcium deposits are normal, right? But this often? And a few other egg questions

So, I know calcium deposits are natural and ok to have, but almost every day one of my hens lays one with a little mound. It doesn't hurt anything, and my neighbors who mostly receive the eggs don't say anything, so it isn't really that urgent. But does it mean she's being fed wrong or...

Umm, hen has been laying an egg for over two hours.. Normal? Help!!!

So at 5:44 I went outside to photograph my hens. (Something weird I do regularly) and I went around the corner and a hen was squatting like she was laying an egg. I just decided to come back to her in 5 minutes and get a very fresh egg. Well, I returned, and she wasn't done. Then I went inside...

    Olive eggers lay white eggs?

I have a two year old Mystic onyx that was supposed to lay greenish eggs, but she lays a creamish color. is there some kind of special feed you give them? I have an Easter egger (Welsummer) that lays brown. Do Easter eggers lay different colors each day? That's what I heard. Is there anything I...

    Earlobe determines egg color?

I have only 3 breeds who lay eggs true to their earlobe color. I heard somewhere that their earlobe color determines their egg color, but it hasn't really been true. My olive egger never lays even black eggs. My Americanas (gone) never layed anything but brown. Is this earlobe thing even true?

Chicken with balding breast and reddening skin?
