    Mixing the hen house

    Very new to chicken raising, We have 3 black rose comb batman's with one roster. A friend gave us 6 Silkies and I built a small A fame for just them as she said keep them separate. I'm thinking of getting 3 to 5 more but looking at barred rock chicks. Can I mix them in with my black batman's?

    Feed oh so many feeds

    Very new I read and watch YouTube, and see some think mass produced feed are not good? Then I read and see about making your own feed so what's a newbie to do? I start my coop build this week and weekend, soon we will have some grown chickens laying eggs, and want to be ready for the girls.
