Pecking each others butt

I have babies that are 7 days old and they peck each others butts, why?

It could be from many things. Sharing some of how they are being kept might help to whittle down the options.

Most times it's from being crowded or too warm. So please share the size of the brooder, the heat method used, the temperature of the brooder, how many are in it, and anything else you can think of that may help.

Give the chicks something other than each other to peck at. At this age they use their beaks to explore their world for the first time. If any injuries have occurred, use a Q-tip to dab Blu-kote on the injury to make it purple which short circuits the urge to peck at it.
