Is there any reliable way to tell what age a chicken is?
From searching there is a thousand posts on determining from chicks to pullets but is there a difference between a just matured hen and one in middle age and one almost geriatric? Even roughly? :)
Thanks in advance.
Our hen Gobbles was limping today, hopping on one leg. No obvious injuries perhaps slight swelling, could be sprained or fractured leg.
There was a severe thunderstorm last night and all the hens were huddled in the nest box this morning which never happened before. We had lightning hit next...
Greetings,
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
New and learning. A few months ago we inherited chickens from a friend who had too many (is there such a thing).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Three hens, they are around 2-3 years old not sure as friend...
New chicken owner here.
Have three Isa Browns around 2-3 years old given from a friend.
Built a chicken coop 60 square feet with a couple nesting boxes that would fit a few birds, and perches are around 12 feet total. There is a run which is another 170 square feet worth.
With this in mind...
