Is there anyone in north Louisiana that has quality black copper marens hatching eggs for sale? I am tired of the postal service scrambling my orders.
:rolleyes:I'd like to pick up....

I have 3 supposedly high quality BCM. A hen from one breeder that is gorgeous, feathered legs, beautiful shiny black feathers with copper necklace. The other two came from another breeder who claims to specialize in BCM. Of the 18 shipped chicks only a handful arrived alive. Only two survived...
On day 5 I realized I had failed to plug in the turner? How critical is turning the eggs them first week? These are my eggs so tossing and starting over is not that big a deal... But did I just screw up to bad to keep going?
I consistently have "quitters" at about 16-18 days. Last batch of 12 only 1 hatched- right on time. I waited another 6 days for the 6 that candled and showed near term maturity. Never hatched. Did eggtopsy and it looks like they are quitting during the last week before hatch day. Not sure...
I have a few Rhodeisland-barred rock boys. At what age should I process? Right now they are about 16 weeks. My plan is to lock them up for a few weeks and fatten before d-day. Right now they are free ranging all day. I understand they will not compare carcass wise with a cornishX but I will...
I have a few black sex link cockerels that I am going to feed up for the table. Anyone have some ideas of best feeding practices to result in best table fare? I will likely caponize down the road, but these are my first, and when I slaughter, I will use them as practice, but for now, I want to...
20 of my own eggs. 4 RIR, 16 BR/RIR cross, and 4 mystery eggs from a friend that I am not sure are fertile or not. My last hatch was a big ZERO. I had trouble with temp spikes, so I reconfigured my homemade incubation system to be hopefully steadier temp wise and am trying it again...
I am watching my eggs for the bullseye. I have 6 hens and 1 rooster at present. I see there is a bunch of "chicken lovin'" going on. How long does it take to develop the bulls eye after the "deed"? I tend to collect my eggs in the late afternoon when I get home from work, daily. Therefore...
I am researching what meat breed to start with. I have layers now- barred rocks and production reds, but want to add some meat birds. I want meat birds that I can establish as a flock and eat from on an ongoing basis. So--- I need a breed that will reproduce true (not a hybrid I assume) with...
My new rooster has been here for 2 weeks. My 6 pullets are not yet "mature" if you know what I mean. The Roo is several years old, got him from a guy who lost 1/2 his flock to a raccoon attack and ended up with too many roos. Anyway, how long before he is imprinted on the coop so allow him...

Got 5 (well 6 but one didn't make it) 3 lighter colored ones- cream colored with white on the wings and the 2 red ones. All from the bin marked "red pullets" The lighter ones are 5-6 weeks old and the red ones are a week younger. Can anyone help me out with what breed they may be?
