Ok, so first let me say that it has been a really rough week. Tuesday, Day 21, we had nothing. Wednesday, Day 22 We had One pip Unzip and die before it got out. Thursday, Day 23, Four pipped and 2 hatched. Today Day 24 Came into two fluffly Chicks, but one was very badly crook legged...
This morning my two hatchers were fluffy but one was crook- (sp) legged. his leg was bleeding and it could not walk. Farmer said he had to be put down. What causes that? Is it just a regular birth defect?
I have one that is really strong walking around everywhere but one of his legs slide...
I have a chick that is really weak. He hatched at 2:30 today and even now can either pick his head up or his bottom but not both at the same time for more than a sec. I was told to give a couple drops of Pedialyte with sugar. HOW OFTEN?
Two hatchers not dry but messing with the other eggs that are pipped. Scared they are going to kill the trying to hatch chicks. They keep laying on the pipped. What to do? Guess I will just leavin them be. I dunno what else to do.
Had one chick die afetr haf unziping. I have two that have pipped but struggling!!! It seems as though the white membrane aroud the chick is very thick... I dunnio what to do they are breathing HARD.... Should I Help! get some of the membrane off? Should I help unzip?
I posted yesterday stressed and concerned with my 11 incubated eggs which I saw 7 moving right before lock down. None moving, none pipping.
UPDATE:
Today day 22 I had one Pip at about 7:45 this morning. I have seen a little movement out of it today.
I had the idea to stick my computer...
We are on Day 22! Had given up hope when I came in this morning had a pip in one of 7 eggs that were moving on lock down. It is 6 1/2 hours later there is no change. When should it unzip... So Anxious!!! I have even placed a chicken chirping speaker on top of the bator to encourage...
Should...
I have 11 eggs in an incubator. The eggs were started March 22 in the AM. It is now April 12 (Day 21 or 22) and still nothing. The bator has ran a a good 99.5 the majority of the time droping a 1/2 degree at night sometimes. The humidity has stayed at a good rate as well but still nothing...
