    My buff fas been sick for a week. No eggs, swollen backend with weird calcified-like white poop. Initially treated her like she was eggbound but have been now supporting like she is peritonitis but what is the poop? I mean the poop sure seams like old egg shells. Any ideas?

    shelless egg???

    Has anyone ever had an egg that looks normal but when you touch it you realize the shell is totally soft? I am pretty sure it came fromone of my Buffs. I give them oyester shell, yogure treats and occasionally let them free range.

    girls have stopped laying

    In the last week my 3 Buffs and black austrolorp have stopped laying. They layed all through the winter almost an egg a day (they are 1 yr old). Nothing is different, eating layer crumbles and leftover veggies with 24 hr water. Light bulb on (we live in Montana)- any other suggestions?

    I just lost a chicken to an impacted crop. The vet said it was full of hay and corn. My question is what can I do for my other girls Buffs, who have golf ball size crops right away in the morning to prevent this. You all know it's like loosing a pet. HELP!
