I have a buff orp who has been on the nest for a week. She won't eat or drink as of the last 3 days, hasn't layed in 6 days, has a swollen red back end and is constantly puckering her vent. I have given her warm water baths, put her on a hotpad, fed her extra calcium and oatmeal, lubed up her vent , given her some olive oil with a syringe, a baby aspirin, extra water and felt inside with no luck. I did pull out though some hard white gritty poop? My question is do you folks think she is eggbound with death inevitable, egg yolk per, or somethiung altogether different? Is there anything else I can do? We have no chick vets here.
