    Buckeye? Welsummer? Cockerel?

    Any guesses on this 11 week old?? If feel stupid for not knowing this. Of the breeds we bought, I narrowed it down to either a buckeye or welsummer...it was supposed to be a pullet too but you know how that goes.

    Still alive after 29 hours cold??? Please help me understand.

    On day 12 of incubation the power went out in my home. I had no other option for my eggs but to pray they restored it quickly. It didn't come on until 6 am this morning (29 hours later) The temp of the room they are in was down to 40 degrees..... I waited until just now (7:30pm) to check my eggs...

    How long before new hens can free range with the gang.

    My neighbor gave me his 2 young guinea hens last night (he hates them) I put them in a chicken hutch I have in my big coop. I have 6 guineas and 60 chickens free range together all day and roost together at night. All the birds can see the new girls but not touch..... When can I let them out of...

    This picture was of a candling on day 8. See the big dip down from the air cell? The fluid inside also seems very watery and sloshy.

    boy or girl blue orpington???

    Question...Help! Hatching is happening now

    My first chick just hatched and the incubator humidity shot up to 99%. I have the vent hole open. Should I do anything else? This is my first time doing this and I'm freaking out!

    4 weeks old tomorrow! (pics)

    My 7 new babies are growing fast and will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I'm praying for all pullets (hahaha) but I think I detected maybe 2 Roo's so far. They spend most of the day out in the field with Mom and the others but I bribed them to come in to this covered kennel with bread for thier photo...
