Perry Schoefield of P&L Gamebirds in Canada has some. I am getting some from him in the fall. He also has a person from a big university in the sates buying 1000 birds from him.
I do not meen to change topics but . . .
This is what I am trying to figure out.
I lost 2 toulouse, a buff and 2 tuftless roman. All were exhibition birds.
How much should I charge for replacement?
I don't quite know where I'd be going. I think it's pretty flexible. Thanks for the offer Tony. I will let you know if I am heading out your way. I am also curious whether there are any zoos etc. that have a large pheasant collection.

Thanks Tony. I will look into those people. I think I am going into the states next year for a family trip, and it would definetely be fun to learn what they do and see their collections. I agree with you. I never tire of seeing other peoples birds. There are only a handful of people where I am...
Does anyone know where the world's largest collection of pheasant species is? I've been wondering lately about this. I think it would be a great place to go and see, but I don't who has a the biggest groupn of species. Anyone know?

Thanks. I can never remember which evergreens are good for birds, and which are not. I did not know about it causing respriratory problems though. I forgot to add that I can also use some arbutus. I have had it with finches and my cots before, so I assume it would be okay for the others as well...
Thanks bfrancis. I appreciate the advice. I will adjust my pens accordingly. I was going to have padding on the roofs of their pens so that it wouldn't be so solid if they jumped up and hit their heads. I think I will add some small nest boxes that I have around for cover, if that sounds...
I'm sorry it seems this way. I have raised over 2,000 Coturnix in the past year in 7 colors. I have had Silver pheasants and buttons. I currently raise Chukars, 20 breeds of chickens, about 100 overall,10 geese in total, 20 ducks, guinea fowl, IB peafowl and I have cockatiels. I have several...
I am going to getting Valleys, Scaled, Mexican Speckled and Northern Bobwhite this year. I have pens designed for them that are 3.5 ft by 2 ft and 2 ft tall. Does this look like a good size for them? They will all be in pairs. Any suggestions for furnishings? Thanks in advance. Kramer
I am designing some new breeding pens for my Chukars. They are 3.5 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft tall. What do you think? Does anyone know about breeding Barbarys and Hungarians and their cage sizes? I will be getting the latter 2 in the fall, but have the Chukars now. I am breeding them in pairs. All...
That sucks. I really hope you get him back. It's happened to me a few times to me, with my Silvers and peafowl. They both came back tough. I hope you have as much luck as I did. Keep us updated.
No. It didn't hit it's head. I jst found it really odd. I can't kill, for any reason, and this was a huge surprise to me. At the time it was really freaky though. Luckily it only cost me $3.50, but it was a an animals loss of life. What I dread so much happened to a bird in my hands, it just...
Good news all . . . my male Silver is all better! He is behaving 100% normally and I gave him a physical exam that he aced. He isn't making any odd sounds, so he went home today. I appreciate all the help I received and the techniques suggested worked great. I gave him the contact lense...
How many people keep mountains on wire? I assume most. Does anyone keep them on shavings? I dislike wire, but would keep them on it if neccassary. Thanks.

I just got some new coturnix today, and as I was moving them to there new cage, one hen started flapping around in my hands and died! We think she had a heart attack under the stress of moving, but even that seems odd. I have never heard of this happening before and it was a strange and...
I did not treat him with anything too special. I just gave him medicated gamebird feed versus his normal non-medicated feed. I am still going to try and get some of the stuff that resolution suggested though.
Hi. I am posting to update that my Silver male is now feeding and behaving normally. He is still being fed the same feed and is in the same cage. I will keep posting until he is better. Kramer
