So there is a question I have for you Arizonians. I pass a house on Hunt Hwy all the time and they have LOADS of chickens and turkeys, I think even sheep, goats etc. It is located around Hunt Hwy and Hawes Rd in Queen Creek... it's a long shot I know, but wondered if it was a BYC member or a...

A few months back at an (unnamed) feed store I was buying some feed and the chicks there were having to drink from water that looked like black mud, disgusting. I loudly said to my husband that was unacceptable (I have a big mouth ) and low and behold, next visit it was much improved...

I have a Partridge Penedesenca, she is almost 2 months. She is one of my most beautiful and friendliest chickens, she flies onto my shoulder and just wants to sit there. I am really impressed so far and very excited to get some eggs! Is there a specific Penedesenca thread or is this the only...
Thank you all for letting me know how you got into Marans. I made that rookie mistake of moving to 5 acres, thinking ""CHICKENS!"" and heading to my local feed barn and then ordering some from hatcheries. After watching my birds grow and seeing some die I began to wonder what the heck was...
I am impressed with all the knowledge on this forum How did you all get started with Marans? Did you get hatching eggs, get given a hen from a neighbor or research your first Maran purchase for a long time. Why do you all love the Maran breed so much? They are a beautiful breed.

I can influence the favorite box. It's where ever I put the most golf balls. I swear they can count!
My chicks only ever lay in the one with the golf balls, or the one the rooster takes them too
