this made my day!!!! :) Thank you...I needed that... And as for hatching the eggs go for it! I once found a dead wild turkey on top of a brood of eggs. I tried to incubate them...no luck :( but it was still fun to give it a shot.
What type of Incubator is it?? Still air incubators are know to have dispersed hatches, I had a dozen due a week ago. Half hatched two days before the due date, the other half two days after the due date. I'm by no means an expert but I personally would give it another day or two. Just a thought.
Thanks :) Umm I raise A variety of chickens currently, unfortunately none of which are really all that rare. After the construction of a coop I built I placed my rare breeds pullets in it. They were light brahma, wyandottes, dark cornish, turken, seabrights, ect. Well they were fine the first...
This is a design of a large barn I plan to build in order to help preserve rare breeds of chickens. CB= Cabinent Incubator, SA= Still Air Incubator, F= Feed Bin. If you have any suggestions or input or breed recommendations that would be great! :) Thanks ~Austin

So i've owned chicken for a pretty long time, but this is just ridiculious! I have had one chicken be fine one day than die the next. No signs... i'm assuming that it is the strange winter and that they haven't been able to acclimate properly. Second, I have a bird that is simply lathargic...
Not sure this is the right place to post but it involves killing a chicken for product so I figured i'll try it out. So I am a live off the land type person and strongly believe in using all the by products possible that come from animals. What is more demeaning than being killed and wasted...
"No red It will drive them mad" some say, well I don't think they care, it just takes getting used to, I paint light so in winter it is the brightest it can be, encourages laying
it looks so home like and warm, probably warmer than my house we heat with a fireplace, yea we had alot less wood saved than we thought so lots of blankets, a really hot fire every other night
