My turkey hatched out of its egg around an hour ago . It is peeping loud and is standing up and walking around in the incubator. How long should i keep it in there?? I know it can survive in there for 2-3 days without food or water.
Will my chicks beat up on the turkey poult just because they are older? Will the turkey poult start to beatvup on the chicks because it gets bigger? Is It safe disease wise for either bird??
I have day old chicks in the brooder and my lone turkey egg is on day 7 and I was wondering if I could put them in the same brooder or would I have to seperate/ or maybe divide the brooder??(disease and behavior wise)
My baby chicks aren't even a full day old yet, but they are running around, eating, pecking, and everything. When can I give them treats to get them to be super tame and friendly? And any other ideas on how to get them tame and friendly(personal experiences)?
Both of my chicken eggs pipped today. It is day 20 and they are still rocking and I can hear the birds peeping. It doesn't seem like they are making and progress towards breaking the shell anymore(zipping). Is this bad or are they just taking their time??
I am on day 19 and i am 99% sure that i was seeing the eggs rock a little. Should i be seeing pipping yet or what should i be seeing??
Thanks this is my first time hatching
I have 2 chicken eggs in the incubator on day 14 and am going to get some turkey eggs and I was wondering if the chicken eggs hatched while the Turkey eggs where still on lets say day 15 will they be ok if I only raise the humidity to around 50-60% for the chicken egg lockdown??
Sorry for the...
I was wondering what the height is on most brooders for turkeys? Is there anything special, turkeys need that chickens don't? Best kind of food? What size bulb? Anything about the brooder?
I want to get some Auburn turkeys but it is very hard to find them so i think i'm going to get some Blue Slates. Does anyone know where i can get some hatching eggs?
I'm thinking about getting some blue slate turkey hatching eggs. I live in South Florida and i was wondering if they can survive in hot weather of course with plenty of water and other essentials? How is their temperment? I might be keeping for more eggs and i was wondering if they are good pets?
