    Buff has been sitting on 4 eggs for 21 days - they could be fertile - got rid of rooster a couple of weeks before she started gathering eggs. How long do I let her set before making her give up? She doesn't look good - has only gotten up a few times to poop.

    the situation has been resolved. Harriet, the new hen took matters into her own wings and flew over the fence and joined the flock with very little fuss. Jules, the rooster is madly in love and everything seems to be working itself out nicely.
