Gallo like I mentioned in the post on the thread I started, I'm super jealous of your system, it looks fantastic
I agree with the nutrient issue, even with fish we were having an iron and potassium issue. It was suggested to me to get some Maxicrop + Iron and use it as a foliage spray once a week. You wouldn't believe how fast the plants are growing.
Check out these pictures, look back at last weeks...
Well right now we have 6 3-4 wk old pullets in a brooder in the garage. Lavendar Ameraucana, Buff Brahma, Copper Maran, Mille Fleur, Black Frizzle, White Cochin and we're supposed to be picking up this weekend a Silkie and an E/E that we picked out last weekend.
Yay! That's awesome...I read that they're really nice birds. My daughter and hubby will be very happy, they're bird cuddlers...lol! Thanks so much for the help we really appreciate it.
Great tip, thank you. I know just were to get them. We have guy in town that sells carpet, he always has small thin mats that are sewn around the edges for $1.00 each.
Would love to meet others that have Aquaponics systems. Here's ours, it's only 2 1/2 months old. We did a lot of research before putting our system together. We're hoping to expand either this fall or next spring after we've got our feet wet.

this sweetie was sold to me as a copper maran pullet but I think the lady was wrong. I don't know about breeds but she doesn't look anything like the other copper maran she sold me. Can anyone tell me what she is? She was laying down sorry, it's the best picture I got. They never stay still for...
Thanks fort he reply...funny I never thought to use Crocs. I actually bought two pair of similar shoes a month ago called DAWGS. got them in black and blue and the liners are removable. Got them from a deal site for $12.99 each with free shipping.
We're planning on using an unused Black & Decker storage shed as a chicken coop. It's 8w x 6h x 6d and has small vents on the front and back. Nice solid floor and no cracks or gaps anywhere. We moved everything into the other shed and started cleaning up a little yesterday. We're planning on...
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering what works best when tending to your chickens. Disposable water proof shoes or rubber boots?
I was thinking disposable would be easy, one size would fit all of us and you slip them over your shoes. Then toss when your done...
Posted this in another thread but thought I'd share it here as well...We got 6 pullets on Sunday and I'm super happy they're here. Here's the link to the other post so I'm not taking up more bandwidth :)

Our 3 wk old white Cochin has been puckering her butt/vent for a couple of hours today. She hasn't done this before and none of the other babies are doing this. We're new to owning chickens and are concerned there may be something wrong, any advice will be appreciated.
Sorry the pics are a little blurry but both my camera and phone weren't working with me at the time I took them. They were sold to me as pullets and are 2-3 weeks as of Sunday.
