We're planning on using an unused Black & Decker storage shed as a chicken coop. It's 8w x 6h x 6d and has small vents on the front and back. Nice solid floor and no cracks or gaps anywhere. We moved everything into the other shed and started cleaning up a little yesterday. We're planning on having a 6h x 8w x 12L run with wood frame, hardware cloth and the end of the run will be a door. Lucky for us the sheds were here when we bought the place 3yrs ago, so no loss to us. Any advise and suggestions would be much appreciated and welcome.

Hubby doing some measurements...

Inside: left side. We're planning on moving those shelves to other side since the door on that side has a slide lock on top so we can keep it closed all the time. We're also planning on cutting two windows on this side and screening with hardware cloth for more ventilation.

Those windows are coming out and will be screened also (we might cut them bigger)

Right side...that's where the shelves are going. Below the shelves will be milk crate nest boxes with the tops cut off. We're also attaching some wood along the shelf to keep eggs from rolling out. That windows is also coming out and will be screened.

Nice solid floor, should make clean up easier.

All the windows will have some sort of awning over them to keep the rain out. Haven't decided on what material to use to make them yet. Well that's it for now...thanks for looking.

Great size. How many chickens are you thinking of getting?

Well right now we have 6 3-4 wk old pullets in a brooder in the garage. Lavendar Ameraucana, Buff Brahma, Copper Maran, Mille Fleur, Black Frizzle, White Cochin and we're supposed to be picking up this weekend a Silkie and an E/E that we picked out last weekend.
