My friend has a pair of beautiful peach lovebirds. She gets a lot of eggs (she currently has 11). She said I could try to hatch some out myself as she has no had any luck with her birds doing so. After a while, she just scoops them up and throws them away. I have hatched out chicken and duck...
I was wondering if anyone knows if my 5 month old barred rock hen will be able to lay eggs with her tail so crooked?? She is the friendliest chicken & I love having her around but I would like the eggs, too!
Thanks so much for your help.

I love them, too! Mine were quiet and sweet and they would lay eggs all through the summer and winter. I miss them....a coyote got them both, but would love to have some more in the future!
Your husband is a kind man, but I would not plow her out again at all...even if I charged. She is just eager to cause trouble. Those are not the best kind of people personally, and she may be sending your husband a bill for her alleged "tree damage??" even though he did it for free. Steer clear.

BTW: Great coop! I have really enjoyed seeing all the pictures...
I cannot recall where I read this, but I believe Congress may try to reverse that law against selling incandescent light bulbs. I hope so. Those other bulbs give me terrible headaches and actually make me feel sick.
Oh, what gorgeous birds!! Good luck to everyone who is working so hard to improve them even more. You are true "silkie heros!" to me as it looks like a lot of persistent effort is needed to do so.
