Ok you live frugal but Christmas is right around the corner. Now what.

We are living check to check ourselves (and on only one check as I am an at home mom/student/PT sitter) for a family of four. Things are about as tough as they get in our world, but the best things we do for Yule is decorate the house and tree together, plan a feast for Yule, and pile in the car...

Two or three hens this Spring. Need pointers on construction, etc.

That's a great idea! I haven't noticed any new buildings in our area and the ones that are going up are usually cinder block due to hurricanes. It is definitely worth investigating though! Thanks for the suggestion!

We are a reuse/recycle kind of family and are hoping to piece something together that is cost effective, but also meets the hens needs. Thinking about getting backyard chickens in Spring.. open for advice!

Thanks! We have thought about moving to Washington or Oregon.. a number of times, but I just can't seem to get over what I hear about the weather up there. It's so beautiful there, but I thrive on sunshine (hence me living in Florida)!

Just curious who else is living super frugal

Yep! We just had to give up our second vehicle in exchange for an electric bike! It actually feels great to be contributing less pollution and living more economically. We have always had to buy second hand generally, but I like the savings so much that it is okay. We try to shop Farmers Markets...

Thinking about getting backyard chickens in Spring.. open for advice!

Hello! My family and I are thinking of getting two or three hens this Spring so we can have our own eggs and compost additive. We are also starting a garden and hope the chickens will help keep pests down. We live in the city of Tampa and I have just reviewed the regulations and need to measure...
