Although I am no expert, I think the first one might be a pullet. I found the lighter coloring red turned out to be pullets. Well, that's before the raccoons decimated my stock :/
I hatched a choc lf project boy from Korfus Kluckers last year and finally hatched some chicks from him. Unfortunately he isn't a very nice rooster and I am going to cull him. Here is a pic of him and I am pleased with his size but I don't keep aggressive roosters because of the kids
I have been hatching chicks for quite a few years now and have always hatched more cockerals than pullets. I decided to set some of my large fowl project choc orps eggs so I can grow out a roo to replace my nasty chocolate boy. I had 8 eggs in the incubator, 7 have hatched and 6 are pullets...
this is my last call for the Hedemora rooster, he is getting culled this week. He is just too noisy. I keep putting it off but now he is getting one of the other roosters I was going to keep riled up. On to this other rooster....
I have a lf project chocolate orpington rooster, I hatched him...
Not an issue for me, just feel bad asking dh to cull. Since we don't eat them I hate throwing them away. I think the suspected cockerals are a welsummer and an ausrra white.
These chicks aren't going anywhere yet, rather offload here than craigslist. I am in Windham. They are just going through so much feed daily and making a mess. I am going to be putting them in a big coop soon cuz they keep escaping their brooder and we have to run through the yard after...
I have an offer for anyone looking for chicks off heat. I have approx 15 pullets that I will sell for $35 BUT whoever takes them would have to take the 2 or 3 suspected cockerals along with them.
Breeds are 2 or 3 or each of the following
Easter eggers, welsummer, barred rocks, Rhode island...
hey everyone...since my predators(hawk, raccoon and people) totally destroyed my flocks and my "specials", I have decided to not really do any breeding except for my lf choc orp project (but my roo seems to like me more than his girls ). I am still looking to rehome the two bantam choc orp...
so after downsizing and keeping a couple "extra" roos because they were quiet, they decided they want to be heard now . I need to re-home 2 bantam choc orp roos and a soft feathered black and gold hedemora roo. These guys instigate the 2 resident roos and it is getting too noisy again. The orps...
I have a bantam choc orp roo that has decided to get noisy now that there are only a couple of roos left. I got him last year as a young cockeral. He is not aggressive to me or my kids. $25. The roos carry 2 copies of the choc gene so first crossing (to black)would result in choc hens and...
I have a trio of project blue laced red naked necks I need to re-home. Neighbors are complaining of the noise from all my roos so I am downsizing. I will give these free to anyone that can come pick them up. I am located near Portland, Maine. I got these from Nava as chicks last year. I hope...
not sure if anyone is in driving distance, but I have a trio of Swedish Flower Hens I am giving away. I just need to downsize the amount of roos I have. The roo and one hen is not crested and one hen is crested. These were hatched last summer. I am located near Portland Maine. If you can come...
in an effort to make this go quicker I am offering the trio of blue laced red naked necks for free. If I can't get rid of these soon I will have to just cull the roo and toss the hens with my layers. I love the look of them but it seems like a waste to toss out this project
also needing a...
