Wife just got home with some dryed meal worms, i threw a handful in and it was on like donkey kong. The birds REALLY like them.
How often should I treat them and about how much (we have 6 hens) I bet they would eat the whole jug of worms if I let them.
Picking up Game Bird feed tomorrow.
We put a box fan on the coup and at first the girls were afraid of it ...20 minutes later the six of them squatted down in the breeze and are in heaven.
Plenty of cold water , shade and a FAN .
My 6 girls are happy and were still getting at least 4 eggs a day.
Oh Yeah, we got our 1st egg on...
I'll have to get pictures of the birds, we should be having eggs ANY DAY NOW . The girls really like the coupe but it did take them about a week to find there box and now they love it . My wife still can't believe the girls know when to go inside, she gets a kick out of watching them go in for...

Finished the coup today. The last thing I did was build the ramp and hang the water bucket and feeder then throw the pine shavings in. My chicks are about 6 weeks old right now and should be coming home tomorrow [ there at a buddies house/barn]
FYI, it takes 22 8"X8"X16" cinder blocks and the same in Cap stones to make a 5' X 10' footing and all of my studs are doubled 2" X 4"s , seal plate is pressure treated .
Joan, I have been lucky, I have 2 friends that come help and that speeds things up real fast . So far we have 4 days in for construction . Egg box is next then slider door then Man door and coup door.
Need to hit the lumber store again Monday , this thing eats 2"X4"s faster than **** though a...
City Chicks, Thanks , ALL my ideas came from BYC, you guys are AWESOME.
Digging the footing for the cinder blocks was FUN in our red rocky soil , hope it keeps the critters out.
gg, the coolest thing I have used so far is an Air Nailer for the 1/4"X11/4" staples on the 1/2" X 19ga wire mesh , YEAH BABY, I'm 61 2"X4"X8' ers , 3 sheets of 1/2" CDX , 5 sheets of 3/4" CDX for box/egg box and coup door.
