Well, I guess we just about wrote the same post. I too am questioning my 11 week old buff orp/Leghorns. I posted under that title. Our birds could be twins. Good luck I hope you have a pullet too.
I'm new to chickens so some may find it quite obvious but after looking at several Leghorn pictures of both hen and roo, I've noticed that they both have substantial combs and wattles. It leaves me with questions about my young birds. I'm wondering about one bird in particular. I'll call it A...
Okay, the kids are now 6 weeks old. What do you all think about the sex now? There are four in all. The two buff colored ones I think are Roos, One of the white ones maybe a pullet but I'm not sure still. Opinions???
I have increased area by just a inch or two. The temp. Increased A whole degree to 100.5. I'm nervous of what will happen at lockdown. I put another hole in the top for venting but that doesn't help keep humidity in.

How do I in erase humidity for hatching without increasing the temperature? Every time I try the temp spikes. Otherwise it holds at a perfect 99.5 It's a homemade jobby and the humidity is around 45. Thanks.
If I indeed have hatched four cockerels, how am I going to house them until A, we "harvest" them or B. we sell them to someone else to "harvest them"? I had great plans for a chicken coop, on the small size, but I think nesting boxes are no longer necessary. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hi, My kids are four weeks old. I'm thinking all cockerels, what do you think? Their combs are nolonger yellow, they have changed to pink. No waddles grown yet but I can see where they are beginning. I think this tall white one maybe my only pullet if at all. She has the smallest comb however...
