wanted to add that her crop has gone down, and yesterday i thought she was getting better so i reintroduced her to the flock and was letting her free range and right away i noticed the funky neck movements and she was puffing out her wings. so i think she is trying to "localize" it...

actually thinking the back section is even bigger than 150ft squared, but that doesnt matter. i just need to know if i invest in building another coop, if it will be used, otherwise it would be a total waste. even though, i could always get more chickens!!! lol :)
hello, i have a very interesting yard lay out. i have my main yard fenced in that has the "main" coop within it. it is a 8x10 that we converted into a coop with a 8x10 run next to it. we leave the girls in there on days when both my husband and i work late and cant get home before dark to close...
we keep our eggs in the fridge and lost power monday night, thankfully got it back thursday, do i need to toss these eggs? i had a whole basket full :/ however, not going to complain, because as all of you know.... there are bigger problems here in jersey other than my eggs. what do you think...

I have been opening the brooder and putting my hand in and they all seem to associate it now with all good things...aka mealworms! so funny how a day of treat giving makes them run right up to you so happy to see you!! i also put my hands in and leave them there and they try to peck my freckles...
they are only about a week old, so i just started giving them meal worms. not all will come up to me though. just my two favorties clementine and violet. they are such dolls. and will come up to me when i call them, but still are not all about being held...i have set up a "nursery" for them in...
