I searched and either my google-fu is terrible or no one else has asked. How would a Cayuga Pekin cross be for eating? I currently raise Standard Pekins (so delicious) and picked up two Cayuga Ducklings so it'll be a while before they're old enough to produce offspring.

I have several Pekin eggs in the incubator and one of the duck eggs has pipped a full 5 days early! Is this normal? Do you think the duckling will survive? The duckling is moving around in the egg a lot!

Anyone else want to join me? I have a staggered hatch right now but I also had 14 eggs come in the mail so I've added them to the 'bator and they're on their way. Not sure if these will even develop as it took longer to get shipped and arrive than expected. But I have high hopes.
