Welcome to !Red Barn Farms
Our kids are avid 4Hers and only enter birds as we live in a very rural part of Florida. Meet our flock!
This is Elvis. He started our flock in January 2007. Sadly Elvis passed away, but left us with a deep love for cochins.
Now we are dedicated to black...
Welcome to Graceland
(A coop fit for our Elvis!)
Bear in mind, we live in the sultry south....FLORIDA. The warm breezes allow for an open coop design. Great for airing out anything smelly, and keeping our flock cool. It also allows for sunrays to reach our feathered friends.
This is a view...
Rosecomb bantams (cockerels) hatched this summer. Father is from the Bennett Family. Father recently won Best of Show in Double Show in Central Florida. Excellent show quality! Great little birds for any 4Her or FFA member. Pick up only (no shipping). $25/each bird. Check out My BYC Page...
We're in Florida too. All of ours stay in with ceiling fans on! We let them out in the evening to eat bugs and get their feet on the grass....but this heat is a ROASTER!
I have had two hens die recently after bout with some sort of head-twitching/palsy. After a while, they lose the ability to walk/stand...then even sit upright. I just had a chick hatch with the same symptoms. What is this? How do I treat? PLEASE ADVISE!
Thanks, cmom! I plan on attending. I am selling several Pheonix bantams: white hen, fawn-breasted white pullets (2), and a BBR cock. Let me know if you are interested.
Who is all going to Dunnellon next weekend? I have some Phoenix bantams for sale. One white hen, two fawn-breasted white pullets. One BBR cock. The cock's tail can grow up to 16 feet long.

Not to worry, Amiga....learning as I read the comments listed...I really appreciate all the input. Who knew ducks were so different than chickens??
I am getting lots of great ideas. I think we were given a sickly duck with a comment that he needed to be "in warmer weather, anyway."...
I really appreciate any input I can get. I certainly can't cure my DD's broken heart if I don't try to cure him. I do have some Tylan and will start him on that now. Warm bath for sure tonight. I'll get some niacin tomorrow....can't seem to go a week without hitting the feedstore anyhow...
Okay....we may be on to something. I just snagged the tag from the feedbag...and no niacin mentioned:
20% crude protein
.95% lysine
.35% methionide
35% crude fat
5% crude fiber
.8% calcium
.35% phosphorous
.35% salt
7000.00IU/LB Vitamin A
14.00IU/LB Vitamin E
--Can I buy Niacin at...
Yes, I can. I really appreciate your advice and guidance. This is all very new to me and I would hate anything to happen to Aflac because of my ignorance. Will post %age of niacin soon.
Thanks!!!!
Yep! I LOVE the "hide" feature. There are just some people you just need to keep "hidden"...for me, it's those special family members that I do better without having to read their daily dramas played out on FB!
Okay...update...still some concerns, but also seeing some improvement just by having Aflac inside. He seems to be able to hold his weight now...although wobbley on the hardwood floors. Breathing like a stuffy nose now...will quack and wants DD to hold him.
I have had him on Purina Flock...
Forgive my ignorance fellow duck owners...(we're more "chicken people")...but last month my DD was given a beautiful, young white male call duck last month from a really good breeder. As soon as we got him to the car, we noticed he kept sneezing. Once we got him home and settled with our other...
