    Strange muscovy drake behaviour

Yes same here, she is almost like a puppy chasing her tail but does not quite reach it, her beak gets to the back of her legs and then she twists to the other side and reaches around again. I have checked her for mites, wormed her, checked for injuries-nothing. I have no idea what she is doing...

must be the time of year, I have a 6th month old female muscovy doing exactly the same. The other 21 birds are fine, just her doing this weird thing 4 or 5 times a day??

What's The "Smartest" Thing You've Seen a Chicken Do?

When we go to shut the Coop up at night, if all the girls are not inside, the Rooster, who perches nearest to the door will tell us. It is the only time he makes that particular noise and he is always right!

He is sadly, a very scruffy and weak looking silkie Roo, so there is no chance of rehoming him and therefore only one way for him to...

    After the roo has gone?

I have a head RIR Roo who has 7 girls and a second 10 month old Silkie Roo who has his own 2 millie hens. The problem is, although all the birds were raised together and share a coop, the threesome have always gone their own way, (as a lower sub group). but now the main Roo is picking on the...

    wing/feather sexing

Thanks for all the replies, my bet today is on it being a girl. For those that asked the rooster may have silkie in him somewhere but also a lot of something else! I got him as an adult from a farm,so I am not sure what he is. This is him,(Adham) in action.

    wing/feather sexing

Hi, can anyone help sex my day old "rhode Island x mixed race rooster" chick. I have looked at various on-line pics, with the different length feathers but I am still none the wiser! Whatever it is, it will be loved but it would be nice to know. Still waiting for the other 6 to hatch, soooo...
