Hi,
I recieved a Black Copper Marans fro My Pet Chicken in he beginning of May. She was born May 1 or 2nd.As she grows older, I am noting she has one white feather of each wing, and a small amount under her chin (might be chick fuzz still) I have no desire to breed her or anything but curious if...
This year I decided to expand a little and get some speciality breeds for fun. Copper-Black Copper marans,Pippi-Olive Egger, Brownie- Barnvelder, Bleau a Blue Andalusian, nd Spot- Speckled Sussex
I've created a new group on Facenbook for the Massachusetts/New England Chapter and wanted to share it. So many times I've wanted to go away and I have to stay home because of my flock. Recently a person that was watching my flock, didn't come over as I had hoped and they were almost out of...
oh good thinking, I hadn't thought to break it into bits ahead of time, I guess i could use a meat tenderizer, but then it might fly everywhere unless I put it in a ziplock I suppose
I always see people posting silly photos of their chickens eating spaghetti, seriously hilarious stuff, but I hestitated to use it, as I thought maybe they'd choke on the longer noodles. I began a search for smaller sized noodles for them to eat. It took a while, I thought of macaroni, and...

Today got 2 more they laid them right next to each other. The colors of my coop.
I do have 5 1 year old hens in moult right now (not laying much) but these are my first special breed chickens
I expected eggs in October from my 3 babies, who were born in May. I got them at 2 days old. I waited almost 2 months and FINALLY the Amerucana laid her first blue egg followed the next day by a white egg from my California White.
Just waiting for a chocolate egg from my Welsummer now.Not sure...
I wasn't ever suggesting chickens were vegetarians, and when free ranging anything is game, and they've gobbled up frogs and worms and everything in it's path, but I consider those things "organic" as they are coming right from the earth. I just KNOW that most meat bought at the store is been...
After over a month of trying, things are finally looking up. With the onset of cold weather I put them together again after putting the 2 coops side by side for a couple weeks. A week of them hiding out in the coop, and this morning I noticed one of the hens who had been very mean run up and...
