Hi,
I have a big walk in cage for my 12 quails. They love it in there. But during the recent wet weather the floor (concreate slabs) gets horrible. We normally put hay down but its just getting soaked.
I was thinking of using gravel or something that any water can at least drain through?

I have had a thought, perhaps they became ill from the eggs not being cleaned?
I read alot online, some saying you should clean the eggs but then alot saying you shouldn't clean the eggs.
Out of 12 eggs only 3 hatched, perhaps the others didn't develop enough and hatch because they caught...

Thank you for you all of your advise though it is much appriciated.

The first quail went into the brooder first the the others joined a day later. They all get on well, although the first chick keeps squeeking alot. I'm not sure if...

Think I will take this one out the incubator in a little bit once she/he has dried out. Should I put food in the brooder as well? I know he/she doesnt really need it until 24 after hatching but it not cause any harm...

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have 12 quail eggs in a incubator, it is currently day 17.
I have just noticed a very small crack in on of the eggs and was wounding if this could be the start of pipping? Or is pipping when a full piece of come off the egg?
