Any northern CA folks encountering Fowl Pox? Several cases have been reported to a 530 Facebook group. Many are in the Chico & Yuba City surrounding areas.
We have a three year old hen who has been laying soft shell eggs off and on for over a year after she was attacked by a raccoon. The attack left her blind in one eye. Her diet is high quality and if I can spend time to focus on getting her to eat yogurt then her eggs firm up but regular layer...
It looks like everyone on here is in love with Easter Eggers and I am eager to own a few to add to my small backyard flock. I am located in Northern California in the Sacramento area. I am looking for 2 EE pullets to purchase. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. All of your egg photos...
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll see you next Wednesday. Can you post a recent picture so I can see what they look like (and show my 12 year old). I told her today we are going to get them and she is so excited. She is our resident chicken whisperer.

I'm located in Davis and I'm looking for four pullets to add to my small flock. I would love some pretty egg layers. I am hoping to connect with someone locally to buy from a healthy and trusted flock.
Thanks!

Is it a better idea to give the girls a break over winter? We could live without the egg production for a few months if it was better for our chickens.
Thanks all for posting this info. Just noticed it in our sweet, mild mannered Ameraucana Hedwig. Poor girl. It is so reassuring to be able to come here to find answers as a first time chicken owner!
