I've read and been told by organic feed farmers that grains, once cracked, lose their nutritional value pretty quickly, especially in hot weather. I started using fresh organic feed three weeks ago and now my chickens avoid the proccessed stuff like poison. Just a thought.

Well, they all made it through the night. I think I will just check the house well every night before I close the door just in case a snake wonders in during the day.
