My goodness they are like little kids. I will have to try that. My boyfriend makes fun of me and tells me it can't be possible. But I knew in my heart and by the sound, the were frightened. Thanks !!!
Hi - I have 8 week old chicks and when I turn off the light in the basement, the sound of their chirping seems like that are panic stricken. I feel so bad like they are little kids afraid of the dark. I am considering on getting them a night light. Any suggestions?
I gave a them a little bit of the corn and it was so cute to see them grab a peice and then all the other chicks would chase that chicks to get the peice of corn. Like she had a bug.
I was just afraid to give them treats too early. I have been dying to try different foods.
I am going to my local Home Depot tomorrow and getting Play Sand. I am also planning on going to the feed store and getting Grit for my 4 week old chicks.
Do I really need the Grit along with the sand?
Thanks !!
I have 6 BRs and the rest of them don't. I am really bummed, these two are the most friendly so far. One more so than the other one. What does everyone do with their unwanted Roosters? Not that I don't want to keep them, I just don't think the neighbors would want to hear them.
I haven't had time to get pictures on here of my chicks. But I have two Barred Rocks that their combs are bigger than every other chick and a their combs are a little pink. They will be 4 weeks old on Monday. Do you think that's a sign already they are Roosters?
Anyone out there from Ellsworth Maine? I have my first batch of Chicks. The are 3 weeks old, 6 Barred Rocks and 8 Ameraucanas. I am having a blast, probably treat them more like pets. But what can I say, I am an animal lover. Love to here from you !!!
No Easter Eggers. I eventually would love a few. The are Americaunas and Barred Rocks. The were hatched May 14th. First time having chicks in 25 years. Loving it !!!
