I think it will be ok cause it has 16% protein and I have read somewhere that for layer pullets protein should be between 14-16%. My store does nor carry anything else so I will try this and keep an eye on them so they don't get fat. I don't know if this helps but they have access to the run...

Here are pics of the coop & run I built on wheels for my 6 chicks. The coop is 4' X 6' and the run is 4' X8' with hardware cloth (1/2 inch) also on bottom of run due to lots of predators on my property .

Ok thanks. I will keep him and see how it goes with the other 5 girls. Hopefully they will all get along and he won`t be too hard on my girls. Being a newbie at raising chickens I still have lots to learn. :o)

I have 6 chicks and they just turned 5 weeks, 2 Barred Rock, 2 Columbian Rock and 2 Rhode Island Red. I think I have a cockerel or two. Can someone tell me if I`m right or wrong. I think the RIR is a cockerel and not sure about the Barred Rock.
