I'll do it right away. She's my favorite, so I don't have to chase her around. Yes, it is quite funny, in a way. I was mainly concerned that when she decides to poop, because it's all in a ball and stuck to het rear.
Thanks a lot, dad
Dad had a really smart idea to place a strip of FLYPAPER right across from where my little Bantie roosts at night. Needless to say , she is now running around with flypaper stuck to her behind. Does anyone know how to get this stuff off her besides giving her a "clip Job"?
Thanks
Thanks. I just did that. I put her and her sister in an old rabbit hutch with food and water. It seems that there is one really agressive hen that want her banished, or dead. Dang! I didn't realze that they could be so cruel. I'll take your advice and take the meanest brown and stuff her in the...
I have 10 chickens in my flock. To make it short: there are 4 brown chickens, 2 white, 1 black. All full grown 2 year old girls.
I also have 2 Banty Leghorns and a Bantie Partridge chicken.
Until about a month ago they all lived very happily together without any problems. With the exception...
That's a good link. Thanks for the info. I'll get het off the eggs. If she goes back, I'll put her in a rabbit cage for a while. Without a rabbit, of course.
I need some advice on how to re-integrate her into the flock. I really don't want to remove her and cause permanent psychological damage to the poor thing. Do I just let her sit on them? She's been sitting on them for a few days now. I doubt if she's been eating?
Thanks.
The top is covered with netting. The sides are chicken wire. I have a 5 strand electric fence running around the coop. The lowest wire is 5 inches off the ground. I wouldn't want to be the poor animal that messes with the wire.
Thanks very much fo ryour replies.. Yes, I will try the light. Sounds like a good plan.
Next, I'll lock them in the coop for a while.
If this doesn't work, well they can stay outside if they wish.
Hi,
Say, I have the same problem. Some of my girls are sleeping outside instead of in a nice warm coop. I posted a question but didn't get a reply yet.
When you find out what to do, could you please let me know.
About the netting. I have the same netting, except I have chicken wire instead of...
I have a perfectly good coop and penned area for my chickens. Hovever, there are at least 4 of my 10 chickens that insist on sitting on a ledge outside the coop. How do i get them to understand that it's warm and dry inside? I tried locking them up at night and letting them out in the morning...
Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me if I can feed my chickens the Emergency food blocks that came out of our Earthquake cabinet?
The pressed semi crumbly blocks are made of wheat , Oats, Palm oil sugar, and a few other caloric items. They're free of chemicals and other crap and are sealed in vacuum...
Ok, I saw the peepers. It wasn't a newbie thing after all. Like, find me a sky-hook. Makes sense that they peck at their mothers beak for food.
Thanks for the repies. I'll get on the peeper thing. How to attach, since they have no ears?
Thanks, Peepers for chickens. Ok, I guess that I should get her a little white cane to go with the blinders. Looks like this one's a goner. She'll never be able to get to the water and food. She does have a very pointy beak though. I'll trim a bit off the tip. Just to make sure that she doesn't...
I have a few 6 - 7 wk old white leghorns and other chicks. One, only one of the young Leghorns is pecking at everyone's beaks.Nothing else, just the beaks.
Someone enlighten me please. Is this going to be a problem?
What's this all about?
Thanks.
Thanks Beth. This poo chart is very handy. Yup! they all look like the ones on the chart Good and Healthy with the exception of Gracy's which is more of a watery, Grey and white mess.
Bert
Thanks CHICKENHICK. Will do. I checked her vent and it isn't pasted over. I guess that I'll just have to watch them for a while. If another one goes down. I have a serious problem.
So what about the eggs, should it be viral?
