Mandarin ducklings dying at 3 weeks old

Indeed- perching ducklings do not need to be dropped in order for their digestive system to function properly. In a captive setting these ducklings can be quite easy to rear with practice. If you look on my Facebook page, Blue Creek Aviaries, I recently posted a picture of a Mandarin Ducking in...

Mandarin Duck thread ( for posting pictures and discussing)

Mazuri allows for a year round feeding regiment. You should start feeding the breeder diet at least a month prior to breeding season and feed it throughout the breeding season. I personally am using Mazuri Waterfowl Breeder pellets. Our divers do get additional high protein options as well.

2015 Peafowl Hatching Support Group - Eggs and Chicks!

I'm sorry to hear about the eggs, but to help you out for next time I have a few questions. Did you have the eggs shipped to you? Did you candle them earlier in incubation? If the eggs are totally see through then they were likely not fertile in the first place. Usually you can easily detect...

Mandarin Duck thread ( for posting pictures and discussing)

The price may seem high in comparison to other commercial feeds designed for production poultry, but wild ducks should be fed a higher quality diet that reflects their feeding in the wild. Mazuri Waterfowl feeds are designed for the wild ducks that we have, with a breeder diet and a maintenance...

Peachicks of 2016 photos -- Let's see the babies!!!

How about pictures of all of them! You can't go wrong with that. But it would be interesting to see the Opal Silver Pied hen's offspring.

Peachicks of 2016 photos -- Let's see the babies!!!

Nice peachicks! I finally am starting to get eggs (only one hen is laying here). I do not believe any of our loaned hens are laying. @Garden Peas that chick definitely has different coloring. I would be interest in seeing more pictures of it.

    Show off your Peas!

Great pictures of them! Diva sure was imprinted on me! Her as well as the Purple Pied Spalding hen would fly onto my shoulder to nap when they were small enough. I do miss her, but I'm glad she has such a wonderful home!

The birds will be 2016 hatch, so they will be juveniles. They will be the size of adults, but not necessarily mature to breed next spring (depends on the species). I do not sell eggs or chicks. They are not all easily to rear, so it is best to buy juveniles on your part.

    Sexing my peafowl

Yes, my hen is a full sibling I would assume, as the hens in the pen varied. I had another hen from that pen, a White Spalding. I checked the notes I have of the pen setup that the breeder had and the peahens were a Spalding split Charcoal, a Spalding split White, a high percentage Spalding, and...
