Yea I just want to know if it will heal like a bone or if the crack will just grow out. I know their beaks grow which is why they file it down. But i just want to know how long
Sounds good, I will leave it be. Is there anything that I should be feeding her that will help her heal faster? I give her gatorade so she doesn't get dehydrated and I sometimes mix that with her food so its a mush and feed her that too. Any other ideas?
I lost 5 chickens to a raccoon but a day later one of my other chickens that was missing showed up out of no where. She seems fine with no cuts or anything but her top beak is broken but still on there. Its almost like a hang nail but better on and the bottom of her beak is fine. I feed her...
That looks pretty normal as long as he is still peeping and everything. Just be sure not to keep opening the incubator otherwise you will mess up the humitiy then it will be extremely hard if not impossible for the chick to get out. I always have that problem, i usually have to help my chickens...

I have had them since they were about a week old. I ended up with 3 roosters and I only need one. They are not mean and aren't loud crowers. They don't crow that much either. They are red silkies and were hatched the end of april. If interested let me know. These are strictly for pets only, i do...
I live in CT, I shipping would be fine but if you live in NJ, NY or MA I would gladly pick up. I ended up buy 6 baby silkies this spring and 3 turned out to be roosters, one turned out to have a deform where the left growth plate doesn't grow so she has a scissor beak. Let me know if you have...
I will try putting him in with the bigger ladys since I dont think it is possible for him to have is way with them. If he starts trying to have his way (which is like impossible) do you think he will eventually give up?
So i have two separate pens, one has silkies, polish top hats, and a turken. The other pen has larger chickens, various kinds. My roo keeps having his way with the ladys and the silkies are so pretty that i dont want them to lose their feathers and they keep screaming when he has his way and i...
Could she be dehydrated? I feel like I often have problems with that and if they are not feeling well that can happen. I actually had to get an IV for one of my chickens today who is sick. They told me Pedialite (sp?) ( the drink for little kids when they get sick) is good for chickens because...
So I have a flock of 42 chickens all different kinds and ages. Yesterday two of my chickens got sick, one is a barred rock about 3 years old and one is a silkie. Both congested in their upper throat not in their lungs yet. Then today one of my leghorns and one of my other chickens which I am not...
Thanks! I will try having her stand in some sort of oil, probably olive oil. It is just so weird that she is the only one with leg mites. No one else has it.
Ok I have silkies and only one of them keeps getting feet mites, she has lost 2 toes. I keep treating it all the time with vaseline and just covering the legs with it which seems to help but it keeps coming back. Any ideas on making sure its gone and preventing it from coming back? I put down...
I am looking to purchase some fertile eggs in CT, I didn't have luck with having them shipped... only the eggs i purchased locally hatched. If anyone has any for sale let me know
