A few days ago I noticed that two of my anconas have crooked toes. All of my other chickens are fine, and they were all in the brooder together.
Is there anything that I can do at this point to fix it? I've seen little booties or sandals for chicks, but since these are around 9 weeks old is it...
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, it's the one in the top 2 pics that I'm not sure about. It was sold to me as a gold sex link but doesn't look like my other 3 at all. She also has some dark splashes on the wings.
Oh and also....if anyone gets a chance it would be great if someone could give me their two cents on the breed here.

Chicken coop update! It's getting there. I have full grown chickens living part time in my garage still. The plywood on the roof somehow ended up crooked so we have to take it down and figure that out. Oops.
And a chicken photo bomb!
This is one of my four gold sex links, but this one grew up to be a very different color than the other three. The last picture is one of the other gold sex links.
Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all the responses about the coop and the tip on hardware cloth (I might check amazon too). Sorry it took so long - insanely busy around here! I'm hoping that by this weekend I can at least have enough of the coop constructed to get these full grown chickens out...
I plan on going with the deep litter method and using pine shavings. I was wondering about paint/varnish or even linoleum on the floor to protect it.
And thanks!
I'm finally getting somewhere in my coop construction! AHHH! My poor babies are still in the garage with a little bit of time in the yard.
Question though: Will it be ok leaving the floor just as plywood and not putting anything overtop? Here's pics of the progress...and some of the girls.
Yours looks much further along. It's FABULOUS!
It looks like you have some sweet building skills...do you think it is ok that we have 32" in between the wall studs?
Today was day one of coop construction! Man oh man, this is going to be a lot of work. I wish the weather was nicer, but we got the frame for the floor and one wall. Slow going but hopefully we will have it done in some decent time for the girls!

It took a lot of searching for me to find this out: You actually won't be able to add a signature until you have a certain amount of posts.Eventually the option will just show up under your profile
And welcome!
Dnetschke,
I'm so jealous! Nice job on the coop!
My chicks are outgrowing their brooder, and I haven't even started construction on the coop! Do you have pictures of yours? I've seen a lot of comments about it.
As far as the ReStore. There is actually one here in the Springs. It's downtown. Here's the address:
411 S Wahsatch
Colorado Springs, CO 80903
And here's their website: http://habitatrestorepp.com/index.html
Hope that helps!
Elbertchick,
Thank you! I appreciate it. I'm not sure that it will help because they were already two weeks old which means they've been sitting at Big R for a while. I guess the Big R in Monument doesn't sell as many chicks. Hoping for the best. Otherwise I just need a good name other than...
Yeah, mine are hatchery too. I am actually not sure which one though because I bought them from someone after she ordered them. Right now mine are in the ugly stage! HA! Some feathers...some fluff. They look a little rough.
