Does anyone here have experience showing birds? I would like to get started in it with ducks, but I don't know where to start, hoping someone here has experience. I've looked on the Feather Fanciers site, but I'm just not finding answers to questions that I have. Thanks for your help!

And it's the 2 that are in my avatar that were sharing the nest. So, I don't know, maybe she really likes the chicken, it seemed more loving then aggression. The chicken definitely wasn't liking it. I did check the eggs last weekend and they are dark inside, so I'm sure there will be babies...

So, I got a question. My female is currently sitting on 5 eggs due to hatch in a couple weeks. Yesterday, she was out grabbing food, making a little squeaky noise, the tips of her wings were raised in the air and she was holding one of my chickens down and like preening her everywhere, under her...

    Muscovy keepers share your pics!

So, my muscovy is broody and apparently the RLBW wants to share in the process. The nest box is not big enough for them both, but when one gets up to eat/drink the other takes over and sometimes they just both sit. I put 5 fertile eggs in there so far on day 14 and seeing veins and movement. I...

I wanted to share this because I thought this was so cute. My duck and chicken are both broody and rather then take their own nest box, they've decided to share one together. So when one gets up, the other sits or they both cram themselves into one, they are sitting on 6 eggs that I got for them.

    Muscovy yolk

Awesome, thanks, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't that they were missing something in their diet. That's good to know!

    Muscovy yolk

I was curious with other muscovy owners on the egg yolk. I noticed when I open the eggs to eat that the yolk is sort of hard. So like if I try to scramble it, it's more chunkyish, is this normal? I'm so used to chicken eggs that just scramble easily. Are they missing a nutrient or is this normal...

I wanted to throw this in here, we have a splash polish chick about 6 weeks old, that I've discovered is a male. He's getting horns! If anyone is interested please let me know, he's a bit small for the table and would rather find him a home now since I know for sure he's a he. Thanks

So, updated report, and had 6 successful hatches of EE's, one half zipped, I had to go and open it and it was already dead, but noticed the beak was crooked, so it was probly for the best. 5 chick's are black, 1 is blonde with a brown stripe. I don't see any more pips, so I don't think anymore...

No, they're local eggs. I've given up on shipped eggs, too much money to spend on little to no hatches, especially at this altitude. Seems to me to be a waste of money. I've tried shipped a few times and have gotten zero to hatch, you just don't know what happens to them in transit. Or, I'm just...

My eggs go on lock down on the 19th, I tried to candle them but it's all black inside. I'm hoping that's a good sign. I candled about day 10 and saw lots of veining on all of them so I'm hopeful we will have a good hatch. They are EE eggs, 17 of them. The air sacs look good too. I'll keep you all...
