12 wk old buff can't lift head

That's what I am thinking now, too. I didn't think she'd make it through the night, but she doesn't seem to be any worse. Not any better, either. She is, of course, in the house with me and I'll continue with TLC and hope for the best.

12 wk old buff can't lift head

I just found an old post, same breed, age, symptoms. I fear my girl won't make it through the night.

12 wk old buff can't lift head

I have been in and out of the coop all day, didn't notice any problems. Tonight, when I closed up the coop, I found my 12 wk old buff orp laying in the enclosed yard. She made no effort to get away when I scooped her up and could not raise her head. She does not seem to have any other...

    In a tree

I've had hens for two years. Got a nice little coop and a small run. Birds free range during the day. My neighbor loved the look and with no thought, went out and bought himself a dozen hens. He's down to two. He makes no effort to feed, so with his permission (I'd have done it anyway), I...

Question about mixing new and old...

You'd laugh if I told you I brought my big bird into the house when it got real cold. And I live near Dallas, so real cold really isn't! The integration information is what I was really after. I have two different yards set up, both totally enclosed, so I can put the birds side by side...

Question about mixing new and old...

Last year, I bought my first chicks (2) to see how I would feel about this whole BYC thing. LOVE IT! I lost one girl to a renegade dog and have since built a better coop. One month ago, I acquired four more pullets and kept them and the brooder in the house. Well, they decided last night at...
