When the weather started getting colder last month our chickens just completely stopped laying. They still have a warm coop and always have food and oyster shells available but they just stopped. We have 2 groups of chickens the first group is 1 1/2 yrs old and the other group is only about 1/2...
This Rooster is by far the favorite chicken in my flock but because he crows loud and we have neighbors close by we aren't able to keep him anymore. He is about 4 months old and isvery pretty and friendly. He just started crowing about a week and a half ago. He has all of his toe nails...
Uhhhh, that's a tough one. maybe try introducing her to them and toss corn out for them? That or I'd suggest trying to hide the mean chicken for a bit so that your newbie would have someone to side with. Sorry I can't by that much help
Well I really am not trying to sound mean and sorry if I offended you but I think we're all just trying to say that there are better alternatives than putting a sweater on a chicken to keep them warm. I was asking how old they were because if they are babies they probably shouldn't be outside...

Are they legit babies? And the chickens (as long as they're not babies) will be fine in the coup, just rub some vaseline on their combs and waddles to protect them against frostbite. I put a heat lamp out on mine, too. If they are chicks I suggest taking them inside a garage with a heat lamp or...
Did you buy the chickens or did the hens hatch them? Also if you want them to calm down, gently approach them and because they are apparently afraid of people if you have kids or anyone else in your house don't let them by the chicks until they get used to you first. Don't pick them up first...
Ahhhh, poor chick when we hatched ducks only one hatched and she grew up to be a real sweetie. As far as I know chickens don't imprint but as far as socialization whenever we only have one that hatches we usually go get it a buddy from Tractor Supply Co. or another place. If you have a broody...
mine only layed eggs out of the box the box once. They also only use one box even though we have three. Where do you have food or water at and what bedding do you have in the box.
