The pen is only small. And she is a Silkie. I have seen dead chickens before but not Silkies, so I don't know what they are supposed to look like.

I have never seen a fox before. Anywhere. I live in town so I don't really think a fox would risk coming in town...
A few weeks ago I discovered my Pekin bantam was dead, stuffed in between the edges of the coop, with her head missing. The rest of her was intact. More recently one of my Silkies had all of her feathers ripped out of one of her wings and it was bleeding. I thought it was the chickens having...
I found this shell-less egg in my chooks' run. It was still warm when I picked it up. I have no clue which chook did it. Is this bad? What should I do? What can I do?
I found one near the butt hole of one chook and the other was just on a random spot around the back area, under the feathers.
So, are you saying that there will be a certain spot where they are "nesting" on the chook?
Oh and should I be worried about my hair? >.<
I found these creamy coloured bugs on my chooks. I am not sure what they are. I thought they were lice but now I am not so sure
I would take a picture of it but I am not going back in there! I totally freaked and took a shower and washed my hair >.<
I only saw 2, one on one chook and one on...
Thank you all for your help with figuring out his breeds. I have made up a flier with that information on it.
Wish me luck with finding someone interested in putting him in their flock and not their chopping board!

Wha?! You think it could be a hen? Dx
When he was a chick, 2 of the other chicks that hatched with him started growing their tail/wing feathers quickly while this one took much longer.

I am not sure. I am not that big on chook breeds. He did say that he had a Rhode Island Red rooster at one stage. When I discribed my rooster to him he said he could have part of that in him but after looking at pictures of that breed, I am not so sure lol
I will ask him today if he...
I hatched a few eggs that were supplied from a friend who has had a few different roosters down the line. Only one turned out to be a rooster. We aren't allowed roosters here and I will have to get rid of him but I would rather have some idea of what breed he is for when I put up an ad to give...
I have had serveral broken/fractured eggs and I am getting sick of it. I once did have sugar cane mulch in the nexting boxes but my chooks stratched it all out. Any suggestions?
I have discovered 2 small eggs so far and I don't know who layed them.
Here is a picture of the eggs next to one of my Silkie eggs:
The middle one is the first I found which was under the roost and the top one I found today (on the ground as well).
For the past few days I have been getting...
One of my chooks has been laying eggs on the floor and I can only assume it is because the box they normally use is in use at the time. It has only happened 3 times so far and a quite distant apart. Each time I find the eggs on the floor they have been all cracked (I kicked one today ._.).
What...
