Im about two hours away so kind of a haul. I may iust visit my tractor supply every week to see if they get some
A gallon a hive isnt really bad considering they are also really helping your hive!
Im getting six pullet day old buff orpingtons on march 30th still looking for straight run buff orps or a friendly buff orp rooster if anyone has any local to me.
Thats such a bummer and of course you cant really "get rid" of most avian predators.... Ihink if you had lots of covered areas your birdsa would be protectes better. We have only lost one half grown hen tonavian predators. They have lots of woods and decks and stuff to hide in or under. I hope...
Cant wait to see what turns up either! I have to decide on getting a buff orp rooster or a lavender rooster to go with my buff orp girls... Decisions decisions....
Oh no! I wouldnt rule out a raccoon or a fox either. The only way to stop it is to kill the animal eating them. Was your rooster full grown? If not if it was a bird of prey then they may lay off once the birds get really big.
I would be interestes in seeing second or third generation bread back to full lavender. I have bo hens ans am getting a lav orp roo so I was thinking of trying this cross. I wonder if eventually you would get lavender again.
