    Anyone familiar with DENAGARD ??

I just received my bottle in the mail yesterday. My flock is in a fenced 1/3 acre that has areas of low ground and we have had a lot of rain lately. Some of the birds solely drink from the puddles and I can't risk them not drinking the medicated water. I have around 70 birds and most of them...

    Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator

I just had 6 guinea eggs and 2 turkeys in mine for a couple days while my chickens hatched in my other incubator. Once hatch was over, I moved turkeys back to the big incubator, they are due in 5 days. I think turning 30 eggs in a tiny incubator would be a nightmare lol.

    Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator

I didn't use the cooling option. Only one of my turkeys hatched. She is doing well. I hatched 3 out of 4 developed guineas a few weeks ago. And I put them in a secure pen outside but apparently not secure enough and a coon got them last week. :'( So I have more guinea eggs in there and they...

Everyone, post your best homemade chicken feed recipes!

Amen! The only reason hemp became illegal is because the big logging corporations took over this country and bought out the politicians. America's rules and regulations are such a joke. Only based on what makes politicians and corporations more and more money, nothing regarding the best interest...

Help needed with settings, incubating turkey eggs in a Brinsea Mini Advance.

Only one out of my four made it. Two stopped developing early. The one that made it came 3 days early and the turner was still in and I didn't add any water yet. So I scrambled to get it set up and the last one never completed hatch. It didn't pip and didn't look shrink wrapped so I'm not sure...

    Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator

I got a BMA for my birthday (but it was what I wanted). I like having the ability to do a small amount of eggs at a time. Right now I am only concerned with slowly growing my flock. I like that this gives me that option. I can turn it on and walk away for the next couple weeks. My first hatch...

    Michigan Chickenstock 2014 Buy/Sell/Trade

Someone please take my angora buns because I can't care for them anymore. :( The male is white and is fixed, the female is brown. They are from the same litter, about 18 months old.

    BROKEN EGGS IN BROODY NEST

Well 5 babies hatched. One is still in the egg but I think it's gone. I lost a baby yesterday during hatch when I intervened too much. :( Dumb move, I got nervous but I shouldn't have tried to help. A few days prior to hatch, one of the eggs was kicked out and was cold. When I opened it, the...

Help needed with settings, incubating turkey eggs in a Brinsea Mini Advance.

I finally got them set tonight. Fingers crossed for a couple turkeys to develop. I'm mostly worried about the oldest egg since it was hatched 4/17 but the rest should be ok.

    Will broody hen adopt chicks?

Momma will sleep with her babies until they are old enough to be on their own. But if you have your nesting boxes high, I suggest you make an area on the floor for the momma and babies. I made a box out of a plastic bin for my broody hen and her nest. The babies will try to climb out of the high...

    Will broody hen adopt chicks?

Starla, I would not let your babies with the big hens. Unless you have a broody hen, which it doesn't sound like it, your older hens will attack the babies. Depending on your set up you might have to wait a few months before introduction. Tatiana, your babies might be too old for your hen to...

    Will broody hen adopt chicks?

I have a first time broody momma who I gave fertile eggs to but only one chick (out of 3 developed) made it from hatch. I was bummed and I didn't want the chick to be by herself so I went to the store and got 4 babies. I kept them separated for the first day because the hatched baby was newly...

    BROKEN EGGS IN BROODY NEST

Here is from before the first hatch when they all were fighting for the nest (on the floor) and then I had other girls laying eggs in the boxes. Lol silly girls! For this next hatch I actually made a nest box for the EE and put the eggs in there. That way she is more secluded and won't get...

    Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator

I just read this entire thread. Waiting for my BMA to come in the mail. It was ordered from incubatorwarehouse.com as a gift. I thought it was coming today but still hasn't arrived. I have 4 turkey eggs waiting on my counter. After reading this thread, it sounds like I'll have to turn them...

Help needed with settings, incubating turkey eggs in a Brinsea Mini Advance.

Thanks for the tip! I'm still waiting for the darn incubator! It was suppose to be here by today according to how long it takes for the website to ship but it was a present so I don't have a tracking number to follow. These turkey eggs aren't getting any younger! Hopefully I can get them set up...

    BROKEN EGGS IN BROODY NEST

What a bummer! :( Well I have 10 eggs left out of 12. I also discovered some of the chickens have fleas (most likely from the mice and moles that have been living under the coop). So I dusted every girl and completely cleaned the coop today. I changed the broody's nest bedding and the eggs...
