My beautiful salmon fav layed her first egg today, unfortunately the Isa brown attacked her on the best, blood everywhere and an injured comb. What do I do?
Miss isa has been locked away, whilst my injured girl is with her friends.
Any suggestions?
I put mulch ( wood chips ) in the run if its probe to get muddy. But generally we leave it and rake it weekly when we clean the coop.
I use wood shavings under the roosts and hay in the nesting boxes. Hope that helps!
My crazy fizzle bantam has been broody for 7 weeks now, tonight I kicked her off the nest and blocked access to it. It took a good 39 mins but she is back on the too roost. I wish I had a wire cage but unfortunately I don't:( any other suggestions?
This morning I found pigeons eating one of the hens eggs. I think it must have been taken out if the coup yesterday. :( any ideas how to stop this and to stop them going in the coop eating the food. Yesterday I let them free range out of the run, so it would have been easy for a predictor to...
Not sure how long she was there, but she was mesmerised. I now have a clean bathroom, mental note don't leave the backdoor open or ill have seven of them up there.
