I have seen some cold Thanksgivings here in WV but I don't remember having a white thanksgiving before I hope everyone is having a great thanksgiving and staying plenty warm

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!
I have noticed the days are getting shorter. Should I consider using lights in the coop to help with continuous egg production? Any advice is appreciated. This is my first winter with chickens/pullets
Thanks

I'm finally getting eggs from my chickens/ hens!!!! Still have a few that aren't laying yet though. One day I'll go out to te coop and find a dozen eggs :)

How do you all keep your chickens cool when it gets really hot out??? I was thinking about getting a wading pool and putting it in the run for them. Putting frozen lunch Ice packs in their water containers
I am new to this site and raising chickens. This may sound stupid to some of you but I need to know, there are a lot of feathers on the floor of the coop and in the run. Are he chicks preening or could it be something else? The chicks are about 10 weeks old.
I am brand new at chickens. I have 12 egg layers and need to know how to check my chickens for mites, lice ect. And any information about how to treat would be great! As far as I know they are ok right now.
